OINP Announced an Increased Allocation for 2018

January 18, 2018: Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) has opened its most popular Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream along with other seven streams and announced an increase in allocation for 2018.

The federal government has recognized the success of OINP and its importance to the Ontario’s economy, and increased the allocation by 600 to a total of 6,600.

The OINP is now accepting applications to the following streams:

  • Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream
  • Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream
  • Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream
  • Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream
  • Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
  • Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream
  • Corporate Stream
  • Entrepreneur Stream

An Express Entry candidate with a provincial nomination will receive 600 additional comprehensive ranking system (CRS) points which will put them well above the cut-off score of upcoming Express Entry draws to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence.

The Ontario Immigration Nominee Program will monitor the intake of applications with respect to the limits of Ontario’s federal nomination allocation in 2018 and applicants will be informed when OINP is no longer accepting the applications.

In addition, the OINP will resume issuing Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to applicants who qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream.

Applicants who receive a Notice of Invitation through the Human Capital Priorities Stream will have 45 calendar days to submit their applications online for provincial nomination.
